Back 2 School

It's that time of year again. Time to get back into the school routine. Whether this means your kids are going back to school or you are the one returning to school. It is an adjustment for sure. Here are some links to articles that will help you get out the door in the mornings:

Tips for Moms Returning to School

For my family we do follow some of the suggestions in the above articles such as:

  • Have a designated spot for backpacks, rain gear, coats, etc.
  • Have a message center that includes a dry erase board, cork board, and a calendar

I have placed all of the stuff for the kids at their eye level so that they can learn how to be responsible for their own stuff.

Creating a "landing spot" can be a fun project that you could do with your kids. Be creative and add their names to their coat hooks.

Having a message center and a landing spot is what works for my family and it took many tries to find what worked for us. There is also many adjustments made when we get involved in more activities through out the school year. That perfect spot that you thought was going to work may not work anymore. Just adjust to the changes and find what works for you & your kids.

Good luck and bring on the new school year!
